THE POWER OF THE DOG (2021)
Starring Benedict Cumberbatch, Jesse Plemons, Kirsten Dunst, Thomasin McKenzie, Kodi Smit-Mcphee, Frances Conroy, Keith Carradine, Peter Carroll, Adam Beach and Sean Keenan. Directed by Jane Campion.

Wealthy Montana brothers Phil and George Burbank are two sides of one coin. Phil is graceful, brilliant and cruel where George is stolid, fastidious and gentle. Together they are joint owners of the biggest ranch in the Montana valley. It is a place where men are still men, the rapidly modernizing 20th century is kept at bay and where the figure of Bronco Henry, the greatest cowboy Phil ever knew, is revered. When George secretly marries local widow Rose (Dunst), a shocked and angry Phil wages a sadistic, relentless war to destroy her entirely using her effeminate son Peter as a pawn. Jane Campion has written the adaptation of the Thomas Savage 1967 novel of the same name.
NITRAM (2021)
Starring Caleb Landry Jones, Essie Davis, Judy Davis, Anthony Lapaglia and Sean Keenan. Directed by Justin Kurzel.

Nitram lives with his mother and father in suburban Australia in the Mid 1990s. He lives a life of isolation and frustration at never being able to fit in. That is until he unexpectedly finds a close friend in a reclusive heiress, Helen. However when that friendship meets its tragic end, and Nitram’s loneliness and anger grow, he begins a slow descent into a nightmare that culminates in the most nihilistic and heinous of acts.

REVIEWS Nitram - Into the abyss of one of our greatest tragedies

TRUE HISTORY OF THE KELLY GANG (2020)
Starring George Mackay, Russell Crowe, Nicholas Hoult, Essie Davis, Travis Fimmel, Sean Keenan, Dacre Montgomery, Harry Greenwood, Thomasin McKenzie and Earl Cave. Directed by Justin Kurzel.

Spanning the younger years of Ned’s life to the time leading up to his death, the film explores the blurred boundaries between what is bad and what is good, and the motivations for the demise of its hero. Youth and tragedy collide in the Kelly Gang, and at the beating heart of this tale is the fractured and powerful love story between a mother and a son.
