Academy Award winner Gary Oldman is Winston Churchill in the gripping and emotional drama 'Darkest Hour'.
As Hitler’s forces storm across the European landscape and close in on the United Kingdom, Churchill (Oldman) is elected as the new Prime Minister. With his party questioning his every move, and King George VI (Ben Mendelsohn, 'Rogue One: A Star Wars Story', 'Animal Kingdom') sceptical of his new political leader, Churchill must face one of his most turbulent and defining trials on the precipice of World War II: exploring a negotiated peace treaty with Nazi Germany, or standing firm to fight the ideals, liberty and freedom of a nation.
Also starring Academy Award nominee Kirstin Scott Thomas ('Tomb Raider', 'The English Patient') and Lily James ('Baby Driver', 'Cinderella'), with the most commanding performance from Oldman yet as the formidable parliamentarian.
