In Depression-era London, a now-grown Jane and Michael Banks, along with Michael's three children, are visited by the enigmatic Mary Poppins following a personal loss. Through her unique magical skills, and with the aid of her friend Jack, she helps the family rediscover the joy and wonder missing in their lives.
'MARY POPPINS RETURNS' STORIES
It has so much heart, such a tremendous sense of fun and so much love in it. It comes at a time where it feels most needed, just like its titular character, a breath of optimism during dark times.
With strong direction, an almighty cast and good songs, it's fun for the whole family. While that may be satisfactory for many, where it exceeds in heart it overcompensates for a substantive drawback.
