JUSTIN BIEBER'S BELIEVE

DAMAGE CONTROL DOCO

Baby baby baby, no! Let’s face it, if you’re between the ages of 8 and 17, you probably think Justin Bieber is the cat’s meow and can do no wrong, but the truth of the matter is, he has done wrong... repeatedly. He’s urinated in a janitor’s bucket, abandoned a pet monkey, graffitied a Gold Coast hotel, sought “comfort” from professionals, and why does he keep walking into glass doors!? So welcome ‘Justin Bieber’s Believe’ - it’s not a concert movie or a deep insight into the young Canadian superstar and he continued rise to fame. No, it's an unabashed PR rebranding. Meet Justin Bieber 2.0 - he’s young and will make youthful indiscretions, he cares for his fans, he works hard with the best in the business to write personal and popular music, and he loves his mom.
'JUSTIN BIEBER'S BELIEVE' TRAILER

The documentary is directed by Jon M. Chu (Step Up 2 & 3), who also just happens to be the creative director behind Justin’s Believe tour and friend (so not biased at all). Chu occasionally slings some hard questions at Justin like, “Have you even been in love?” “Have you ever had your heart broken?”, and his thoughts on possibly becoming a train-wreck à la Lindsay Lohan or Britney Spears circa 2007. The 19-year-old quickly and most ineloquently answers before they throw in another concert number.

Hailed as unprecedented behind-the-scenes access never-before-seen footage, ‘Believe’ is nothing more than pure damage control - it’s also for fans and fans only, and quite frankly, they deserve better.
