'Shaun the Sheep' has been delighting audiences since his first appearance in the 'Wallace & Gromit' short 'A Close Shave'. Almost a decade later, he got his own series. What started as a spin-off to an already iconic franchise became its own media empire, with video games, and in 2015 it got its first feature film, followed by a sequel four years later. With creators Aardman Animation having their own resurgence right now with both 'Chicken Run' and 'Wallace & Gromit' returning in feature films, it was only a matter of time before Shaun would also return to the silver screen.
'Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom' shows us how this flock spends Halloween. Shaun and the sheep on the Farmer's property are growing pumpkins - but when they get destroyed, Shaun takes matters into his own hands. He turns into a mad scientist, but this leads to only more problems, the Farmer goes missing and a hairy beast is unleased in Mossingham!
For a franchise approaching 20 years, 'Shaun the Sheep' still feels incredibly fresh. There's such a comforting charm to these characters, and that's the reason they are still delighting audiences of all ages. Seeing any kind of animation on the big screen is a treat, but to see stop-motion is so electrifying; these characters are literally crafted by human hands, which is a reason alone to see the film. On top of that, the film is really funny and oozes creativity that serves as a perfect Halloween caper that everyone can enjoy. It's not a standout from Aardman's other features, but it's a great film that reminds us why we love stop-motion and is sure to be a new staple of the spooky season.

'Shaun the Sheep: The Legend of Mossy Bottom' is an all-ages Halloween romp that will be sure to please audiences this spooky season. There are very few films that can be enjoyed by all age groups, and 'Shaun the Sheep' is truly the perfect example of that.
