FANNY LYE DELIVER'D
Feminist folk horror
Written, directed, edited, and scored by Thomas Clay, 'Fanny Lye Deliver'd' is a marvel of historical accuracy. It isn't a happy film, but it is certainly an empowering one.
AMMONITE
Francis Lee delivers another beautiful portrait of love and longing
A beautiful, soulful and intelligent film, made with honesty, integrity and an unexpected sense of humour that breaks through the rock encasing it.
THEN CAME YOU
Then came the same movie over and over again
You know what you're in for when you hear the plot: it's Hallmark or Netflix bland romantic cheese. You have absolutely no reason to watch it - you'll forget about it while you're watching it.
THE MORE YOU IGNORE ME
Searching for joy amidst the darkness
Thoughtful when it wants to be, heartfelt when it needs to be, and funny when it can be, this film is sure to leave a smile on your face, and maybe even a tear in your eye.
MISBEHAVIOUR
"We’re not beautiful, we’re not ugly, we’re angry!"
It may fall into the formulaic territory at times, but that's not a bad thing - the story of what happened at the 1970 Miss World competition is a powerful one that deserves to be remembered.
