The Falls Music & Arts Festival is bigger in more ways than one for 2013 - primarily, because the event will run simultaneously across three states this year. The addition of a Byron Bay event has caused a great deal of excitement amongst music fans, as one of the highlights of the festival calendar gets just that little bit more awesome.
This morning, the first line-up was announced, with some big international names to get things rolling - Vampire Weekend, MGMT, Grizzly Bear, !!! (Chk Chk Chk), Flight Facilities, The Preatures, James Vincent McMorrow and The Wombats will draw fans from across the country. A few timeless artists will be appearing also - The Roots and the Violent Femmes will perform at all three locations.
There's also Aussies on the first announcement - notably Big Scary, The Cat Empire, Chet Faker, Hermitude, Gosling, Pond and Neil Finn (yes, he counts as an Aussie).
But, as always, it's important to stress this is just the first announcement. With summer on its way to lure bands from around the globe to our shores, we'll be sure to see some more stellar acts added to this already impressive line-up.
Tickets are on sale from the 4th September, so be sure to head to www.fallsfestival.com.au for all the details.
