Felicity Kendal is Rosemary Boxer - a plant biology lecturer whose career is on the line; Pam Ferris is Laura Thyme - former policewoman whose husband has left her for a younger woman. They plan to use their expertise for major gardening projects, but it seems that suspicious deaths and strange-goings-on have a habit of following them around.
